Sneak Peek - Erica

When Erica called to set up this beach session, the last thing she asked me when we were going over details was if I took pictures with dogs.  My first, initial answer was "No, I haven't ever."  Then, I thought for a second and realized that yes, I had actually taken pictures of my baby niece with their family dog and the Christmas pictures I did of my sister's girls this year included some pictures of their puppy.  And of course, I take pictures of my own Sheltie on occasion (okay, actually on a lot of occasions).  So, I changed my answer.  Yeah, way to sound definitive there Daphne .  Erica said that they had a new puppy and wanted to take a few pictures of the puppy with the kids.  We talked about some of the specifics about bringing a dog out to the beach.  Now, in my mind when she said puppy, I was thinking little bitty puppy, like the 4 pound bundle that my sheltie was when we brought her home.  So, I had in my mind taking these cute little photos of Erica's children cuddling their tiny puppy - you know with the puppy's furry little head sneaking out from a crooked elbow or maybe the children holding the puppy in the air.  Maybe set the puppy in a little wicker basket between the two kids.  When they got there I noticed two things right away.  First, when I took Jenny's pictures last month, she told me that Erica was going to call me to set up a beach session.  She said, "Daphne, Erica's children are gorgeous!"  So, the first thing I noticed was that Jenny was right - Erica's children are BEAUTIFUL!  The second thing I noticed was that I should never ever assume anything about a puppy's size!  All my cute little ideas for pictures went out with the waves.

This is their puppy, Gracie.  Nope, she's not very little, but she is beautiful!

Is there anything more precious than a little boy and his dog?

Here's a few more from the session.  I hope you enjoy them, Erica.
