Sneak Peek - Jessica|Perdido Key Beach Photographer
It's been almost a year since I hung out my shingle to take pictures professionally. My first paying session was for the fall school pictures at my daughters' preschool. From that job, I had the wonderful opportunity to have sessions with many of the families from the school. Jessica was one of the first people to call me and schedule a family session for last November. We took pictures at the waterside near her house with her four children, her nephew, and her mother, who the children call Grammy. I'll readily admit that I was nervous....this was one of my very first sessions, it was my first multi-generational session, and it was the very first time I'd had a photo shoot at a location I had never visited. I needn't have worried. Jessica's family was simply wonderful and I had an amazing time and I think we got some wonderful pictures. And Jessica is just one of those people that makes you happy to be around....she has a simple joy that just shines through. For the rest of my photography career, I will look back on the "Afternoon with Grammy" fondly.....
Well, fast forward to the end of June..... Jessica emailed me and asked if we could do another session....this time at the beach with her children and her husband's parents. This was a bittersweet session...Jessica and her family transferred to another state, far away. In fact, this photo session was one of the last things they did before they left Pensacola. Her husband's parents, Nana and Papa, are amazing grandparents...I saw them often at preschool pick-up and drop-off last year and I am so glad I had to the opportunity to photograph them with their grandchildren.
Of course, Jessica, as she always does, threw me a photography curve
She asked if we could take pictures in the morning instead of at sunset. I agreed, but once again, this was something I haven't done a lot of....most of my beach sessions are in the evening. Well, let me tell you, the light in the morning is simply amazing....while sunset photos seem to be particulary romantic and softly-hued, morning pictures are, for lack of a better phrase, sparkling with life. I'll definitely be scheduling some more morning sessions, so if any of you out there are early birds and want some awesome pictures, give me a call and I'll meet you at the beach at sunrise
Enough of my chattering....here are the sneak peeks...

Jessica, Pensacola won't be the same without you!
