Sneak Peek - Lisa|Perdido Key Photographer|Perdido Key Children’s Photographer|Perdido Key Family Photographer
Okay, I know that there’s an oil spill out in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico. I’m as glued to the news and the updates as anyone who lives along the Gulf Coast. I am heartbroken and worried. But, right now, today, our beaches are as beautiful as they have always been. If you’re worried about the water or the sand, I hope these pictures put your mind at ease.
This session is bittersweet for me. These kiddos are some of my very favorite to photograph. I think over the last year, I’ve had at least four (maybe five?) with them. They are a joy to spend the afternoon with. Unfortunately, they’re moving
. I love and sincerely appreciate our military, but it tugs at my heart strings when people I’ve come to know and love have to move away. But, that is the nature of military life & I have the privilege of living in a military town, so it comes with the territory.
Lisa debated about doing another session at the beach since we’ve done so many over the last year, but she decided that she wanted one last set of pictures at one of the world’s most beautiful beaches. I’m so glad she decided on a beach session. It was so much fun!
Lisa, here are your sneak peeks:
I normally don’t post black & white sneak peeks of beach sessions because the colors in the full color images are just so vibrant, but this one just speaks to me in black and white….
And, our session was not without a little bit of drama. Lisa & I were standing a bit down the beach from the kids. We saw them pick up something that looked like one of those blue water bottles. I watched them for a few seconds and then remembered something that I’d heard long ago. Portugese Men Of War are also called blue bottles because of their strong resemblance. I told Lisa what I thought it might be and we took off running down the beach, yelling for the kids to drop it. They did and when we got down there, I knew right away that it wasn’t a plastic water bottle…it was a Man of War. Luckily, other than a small string on one of the twins’ feet, the kids weren’t hurt. We rinsed the sting off with water and nobody seemed any the worse for wear. But, just as a precautionary tale, if you see one of these in the water or on the shore…don’t play with it!
